About what you say in the tone, yeh indeed it is curious how the protagonist change his mind, but i think at last he is with socialims, no with communism wich is more radical (in a political way). Your description of the political systems is good, although in Capitalism the main idea is about the private property, no just only unbalanced payment. In general you have a nice analysis. you did a good job in your video :)

Brenda, I feel the tone is mostly decadent. All his descriptions intend to make us feel feel how bad the situation is for Russians and how everything is in decline. The words he used always pointing at the dirt, darkness, ugliness and poverty are indicators of the tone. You did a good job proving evidence from the story to back up your interpretations.
